Singapore, 21 April 2025 – In consultation with the Building and Construction Authority (BCA), the St John’s Island jetty and Kusu Island bumboat jetty will be temporarily closed from 24 April 2025, to facilitate detailed investigation and carry out essential repair works to upkeep the jetties and ensure they are safe for use.
2 The first phase will comprise a comprehensive investigation into the structure to determine the works needed to strengthen and/or rebuild elements of the jetties. This initial phase will take about a year and include an environment impact assessment before major strengthening or rebuilding works are carried out. More details will be provided when the full scope of works needed to ensure public safety has been established.
3 During this period, St John’s Island and Kusu Island remain accessible to the public via alternative jetties. Visitors can access St John’s Island and Kusu Island via Seringat jetty and Kusu Island main jetty, respectively.
4 Kusu Island main jetty is a 3-minute walk away from Kusu Island bumboat jetty, while Seringat jetty is a 30-minute walk away from St John’s Island jetty.
