Celebrate World Oceans Day in Singapore

8 June is World Oceans Day! In 2018, the Action Focus is preventing plastic pollution and encouraging solutions for a healthy ocean.
Around this Day, happenings on Singapore shores include Chek Jawa Open House, screening of a film about Sungei Tampines and plastic pollution, and walks at Sungei Buloh Wetland Reserve and  Coney Island, and a public talk by seagrass scientists. Here's more details...

9 Jun (Sat): What's in my mangroves?

Join this free morning walk and get to know the mangrove trees and plants of Sungei Buloh. Mangrove forests are living borders of the freshwater and salt water. Out of 73 true mangroves species worldwide, 22 can be found in Sungei Buloh.

9 Jun (Sat): Ecolife at Coney Island

Join volunteer guides on this FREE walk to find out more and learn more about the interesting flora and fauna found on the island.

8 Jun (Fri): "The Untold Story of Sungei Tampines" Talk & Video Screening (Part 1)

A small river running through the Pasir Ris mangrove boardwalk, Sungei Tampines is bursting with wildlife! Nature Society (Singapore) member Kwan Hun shares videos of the wildlife at Sungei Tampines and discusses how plastic pollution and feeding are impacting them. Come for this two-part free screening to join in the discussion.

13 June (Wed): FREE Public Talks on Seagrass!
